Sunflour Baking Company designs custom wedding cakes for couples across the Charlotte metro area from our Ballantyne and Harrisburg bakery locations. We specialize in tiered buttercream cakes, fondant designs, semi-naked floral cakes, cake jar favors, and full dessert tables for receptions and rehearsal dinners.
Wedding Cake Tastings
We host in-person tastings at Ballantyne and Harrisburg by appointment. A standard tasting includes four cake flavors and four buttercream pairings, plus time to walk through design ideas, guest count, delivery logistics, and pricing. We recommend scheduling tastings 3 to 6 months before your wedding date — popular Saturday dates book up first. Tastings are $25 per couple and credited toward your final cake order.
Cake Sizing & Pricing
Tiered wedding cakes start at $7 per serving for buttercream designs and $8 to $10 per serving for fondant, sculpted, or fully custom work. A typical three-tier cake serves 75 to 100 guests; four-tier cakes serve up to 150. We can also build dessert-display setups with a smaller cutting cake plus cake jars, cupcakes, or mini pastries to feed larger guest counts more affordably. Custom designs — sculpted shapes, gold leaf, painted detail, sugar florals — are quoted individually based on design complexity.
Cake Jar & Cookie Favors
Our wedding cake jars are a Charlotte favorite for guest favors. Each jar is a single-serve layered cake in eight standard flavors, sealed with a branded ribbon and your custom label if you want one. Minimum order is 24 jars at $9 each, with custom labels adding $1.50 per jar. Decorated sugar cookies and French macarons are also available as table favors with three weeks lead time.
Dietary Accommodations
We make tiered cakes, cake jars, and dessert table items in vegan, gluten-free, and vegan-and-gluten-free (VGF) versions. Mixed-tier cakes — for example, a vegan top tier with traditional lower tiers — are common for us. Please note dietary needs on your inquiry form so we can build the right tasting and quote. We do not guarantee allergen-free preparation, but we can help you avoid the most common allergens.
Service Area & Delivery
We deliver wedding cakes throughout the greater Charlotte metro: Uptown, South End, Plaza Midwood, Myers Park, SouthPark, Ballantyne, Huntersville, Concord, Harrisburg, Davidson, and Fort Mill, SC. Delivery includes white-glove setup at your venue and is priced based on distance and cake complexity. Pickup is available at Ballantyne and Harrisburg for couples who prefer to handle transport.
